In aquariums, the UV-C unit is usually connected after the filter so that water that is as clear as possible and has been mechanically pre-cleaned flows through the UV-C clarifier.Ensure the flow rate is correct, as excessive pump output can reduce the contact time between the water and the UV-C light. The unit must only be operated when fully assembled and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Never look directly at UV-C light. Always disconnect from the mains before carrying out any maintenance work.Zoo Roco TipA UV-C clarifier is particularly helpful for green water caused by floating algae or milky-whitish cloudiness. However, it is no substitute for regular aquarium maintenance, water changes or identifying the root cause. You should also check the lighting duration, nutrient levels, stocking density and filter performance.
