Underwater gardeners
Aquascaping refers to the technique of designing aquarium landscapes. Imaginative plant arrangements, reproductions of above-water landscapes or natural habitats can be created. An aquascaping aquarium contains few to no fish and invertebrates. This reduces the nutrient supply for the plants and limits their growth. Nitrogen, phosphorus and other minerals become scarce and need to be specifically fertilised. For healthy plant growth in a beautiful underwater landscape, the plants need light, CO2 and the right nutrients.
Specially for shrimp aquariums
ProScape Soils are special substrates that have been specially adapted to the needs of aquascapers. Soils are not water-neutral, but have a softening effect. They make the water softer and slightly acidify it so that the pH value moves into the slightly acidic range. The JBL Plant-Soils are heavily loaded with nutrients so the plants are immediately supplied with lots of nutrients and minerals, whereas ShrimpsSoils are poorer in nutrients, but still supply nutrients to the plants. Application:
Rinse the substrate briefly under tap water to remove abrasion caused by transport. To prevent accumulation of minerals in the water, change 50% of the water every 2 – 3 days during the first two weeks after filling. As the influence on the water values depends on the starting water and the intervals between water changes, the softening effect decreases over time.
Calculation formula for the correct amount of substrate:
Length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm) : 1000 = litres JBL ProScape ShrimpsSoil
