Where are the birds categorised in the classification?
Systematically, all commercially available birds, with a few exceptions (e.g. quails, pigeons), belong to the two large orders of parrotbirds = psittacids (colloquially: scimitars) and passerines (colloquially: exotic birds).
The passerine birds are then divided into fine-billed and strong-billed species.
A distinction is made between parakeets and actual parrots
