Product information "Bird Systems T8 – Bird Zone 1 2.4% UVB"
Bird Systems T8 Bird Lamp – UV bird lamp for pet birds
Bird Systems T8 Bird Lamp – UV fluorescent tube for pet birds with 2.4% UV-B and 12% UV-A. Supports natural vision, vitamin D3 synthesis and well-being.
The Bird Systems T8 Bird Lamp is a specialised UV fluorescent tube for pet birds that have little or no direct access to natural sunlight. It has been developed to replicate the UV component of sunlight and thus support species-appropriate lighting in bird rooms, aviaries and cage systems.
The T8 Bird Lamp emits 2.4% UV-B and 12% UV-A. UV-A supports birds’ natural vision, as many bird species perceive colours and plumage patterns differently to humans. UV-B is important for the body’s own synthesis of vitamin D3, which in turn supports calcium metabolism and bone mineralisation.
The Bird Systems T8 Bird Lamp is suitable for various bird-keeping set-ups – from smaller cages to larger aviaries or bird rooms. It is available in several lengths and wattages and can therefore be selected to suit the specific set-up. To ensure a reliable supply of UV light, it is recommended that the lamp be replaced at least once a year.

Directions for use
Only use the Bird Systems T8 Bird Lamp with a compatible T8 lamp or a suitable ballast of the correct wattage. The lamp should be fitted in such a way that the birds can benefit from the UV light without coming into direct contact with the tube.
Do not operate the lamp behind glass, plexiglass, or unsuitable covers, as these can significantly block UV rays. Ensure it is securely mounted, at a sufficient distance, and that the daily lighting duration matches the natural day-night rhythm of your bird species.
Switch off the lamp before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work. The lamp should not be sprayed directly with water. To ensure reliable UV-B output, the manufacturer recommends replacing the lamp after approximately one year.
Zoo Roco Tip
UV light is particularly important for birds that are mainly kept indoors. Position the Bird Systems T8 Bird Lamp so that it creates a well-lit area where the birds can stay, whilst also allowing them to seek out shadier areas. This allows your birds to choose for themselves how long they wish to stay in the lit area.
