Two-spotted crickets, also known as Mediterranean or banana crickets, are found mainly in the Mediterranean region. They can grow slightly larger than steppe crickets and, unlike them, are black in colour.
As this insect species must overwinter, it is ideally equipped for shipping in winter and is also considered resistant to cold temperatures. Otherwise, the species is comparable with the steppe crickets.
