How did the Pet Factory come about?
The company was founded by a group of breeders and enthusiasts who got together to buy stuff on a non-commercial basis.
Later, they started showing up at trade fairs and events as a group and helping each other out when needed.
Seeing how well this was working, Martin Höhle decided to take things to the next level and give our idea a solid foundation.
In 2001, a business was registered under the name The Pet Factory.
Shortly afterwards, www.ThePetFactory.de was created with a shop on the homepage, one of the first in the scene.
To this day, we have seen steady growth in the number of satisfied customers, as well as new products and product ideas.
Our entry into the "invertebrate" market segment marked the beginning of a new growth spurt, which continues to this day. The Pet Factory imports and exports worldwide and also maintains a modern distribution warehouse and its own breeding facilities covering over 1200 square metres.
The Pet Factory was the general distributor for REPASHY in Germany and, as a result of Brexit, virtually the European representative, as it became uneconomical for many smaller national distributors to purchase these products. Unfortunately, the newer EU regulations were not followed, which led us to replace these products with BLUE RIVER DIETS, bringing us up to the latest standards.
We also distribute specialist literature from CHIMAIRA and Tetra VERLAG to specialist retailers, as well as ECONLUX.
In 2023, we became a distributor for ZooMed.
If you have any suggestions or requests, we would be delighted to hear from you. The same applies if you notice an error or simply have a problem with keeping your animals.

The Pet Factory - Beetlefix
Beetlefix is a ready-made substrate for rearing or feeding rose chafer larvae.
Beetlefix 1Ready-made substrate for rearing rose chafer larvae. Fill a sturdy rearing box with at least 5 cm of Beetlefix 1. There should still be a clear space of at least 5 cm above the substrate. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation! It may be necessary to occasionally top up the ongoing cultures. The optimum rearing temperature is between 20° and 26°C. If required, the cultures should be mixed with Beetlefix 2. Also suitable for many millipedes, land crabs and snails.
Beetlefix 2Ready-made, white-rotted beech wood for feeding rose chafer larvae. Add Beetlefix 2 to Beetlefix 1 as required. There should still be a clear space of at least 5 cm above the mixture.
