Until the 1990s, the dog biscuit was still made entirely by hand, or rather with the feet. A dough batch weighing over 50kg was kneaded, then laid on the floor and rolled out to the correct thickness using a wooden board and the maker’s own body weight, before being cut by hand into the familiar slabs. Today, of course, we produce this dog biscuit slightly differently, but a great deal of craftsmanship is still required in the dough preparation and shaping. CanisKnusper remains one of the best-selling dog biscuits in the Bubeck range; there is nothing comparable on the market in terms of hardness and size. CanisKnusper is still made according to the original recipe by Robert and Wilhelm Bubeck. The original dog biscuit from Bubeck, baked in the traditional stone oven style for almost 120 years.
