Product information "JBL PRONOVO GUPPY FLAKES S"

JBL ProNovo Guppy Flakes S

Aquarium staple food flakes in size S for all live-bearing fish from 3 to 10 cm in size for community aquariums.

  • Prebiotic floating aquarium fish food: special fiber in the food provides the beneficial intestinal bacteria with food for healthy digestion
  • Natural raw materials without artificial additives for a natural diet and healthy aquarium fish. Tested on JBL research expeditions in the tropics
  • Very high acceptance even with picky species of live-bearing toothcarp thanks to high-quality raw materials such as salmon, shrimps and spirulina
  • With very high-quality natural astaxanthin from krill and spirulina, which ensures perfect coloration in guppies and other livebearers
  • Scope of delivery: Original sealed, airtight and lightproof, recyclable tin with dosing aid inside the lid

Guppies, black mollies, platies, sail carp, gambusia, swordtails and some others belong to the group of livebearing toothcarps. What they all have in common is that they give birth to live young and do not lay eggs like most other fish species. In the wild, livebearers eat insects, insect larvae, algae and anything else they can eat - they are not picky. Depending on the habitat, algae and the small animals living in it often form the largest part of their diet.

Flakes or granules?

Honestly, it's a question of faith! There are only a few arguments for or against the type of food. If you use an automatic feeder such as the JBL AutoFood, you MUST choose granulated food, as almost all automatic feeders are only suitable for granules. If an automatic feeder is due on your next vacation, get your fish used to the granules from the feeder RIGHT AWAY. Some fish actually find it difficult to switch from granules to flakes or vice versa. Imagine that you have always eaten soft cornflakes and are now giving them whole grain muesli for the first time.

Probiotic or prebiotic?

Probiotic foods, such as some types of yogurt, contain live bacterial cultures to promote health, but only when consumed in large quantities. Such foods, including probiotic fish food, can easily spoil and then have the opposite effect. Incidentally, the positive effect on health is controversial.

Pre- or prebiotics are "substrates that are selectively used by host microorganisms and provide health benefits." Scientists agree that they promote digestion and therefore health. Better digestion results in less excretion and therefore less pollution of the water, which keeps the water cleaner and reduces algae problems.

My Tank - 55 L Scape - Aquarium Set
Me My Tank 55 L ScapeComplete bundle for modern aquascapesA successful aquascape thrives on clear visibility, harmonious proportions and a tank that puts the design in the spotlight. This is exactly where the ME My Tank 55 L Scape comes in: the 55-litre aquarium is designed as a complete set and offers you an elegant base for effectively showcasing hardscape, plants and details. Particularly striking is the edgeless front, which is curved from a single piece.
