The Exo Terra Compact Top is a compact terrarium lamp cover designed for the Exo Terra glass terrarium. The easy-to-install cover accommodates terrarium lamps or low wattage incandescent lamps. You can use a combination of different Exo Terra Repti Glo terrarium bulbs (PT2226 / PT2227 / PT2228) to achieve the ideal proportions of ultraviolet and visible light. A bulb such as the Daytime Heat Lamp increases the ambient air temperature. Additional accessories such as the digital Exo Terra thermometer or hygrometer and the Exo Terra thermostat or hygrostat can be slid into a special recess on the cover.

The Exo Terra Glass Terrarium is the ideal reptile or amphibian housing designed by European herpetologists. The front opening doors allow easy access for maintenance and feeding. A specially designed lock will prevent escape and the doors can be opened separately. The full screen top ventilation allows UVB and infrared penetration, and is completely removable for easy access while decorating or cleaning. In the back of the screen cover are 5 closable wire or tube inlets on both sides to install Heat Wave Rocks, Waterfalls, sensors, etc. inside the terrarium. The bottom plate of the terrarium is raised to mount a substrate heater to heat a part of the extended ground surface. The extra high fixed front window is ideal for thick layers of substrates (burrowing reptiles), aquatic parts (paludarium) or to mount an Exo Terra reptile den. The natural background is in the same colour like all other Exo Terra decoration items (Water Dishes, Waterfalls, Heat Wave Rocks, etc.) and provides an extra climbing dimension.

Advantages of the LED technology are low energy consumption, low heat emission and a long life of the light emitting diodes. Therefore, illuminating terrariums all night long is possible, without hindering the natural nocturnal drop of temperature as with other light sources. Especially nightlight incandescent lamps consume a lot of energy and consequently produce a lot of unwanted heat as well. In addition their ability to illuminate the terrarium properly and allow nighttime viewing is limited.The energy consumption of the LEDs in the Night Sky LED set is merely 0,2W per LED. This is the most energy efficient way to illuminate a terrarium at night.
The Night Sky LED set contains 3 moonlight LEDs and an electric transformer, with which up to 6 LEDs can be powered. Additional LEDs are available separately. The steel reflector focusses the light and also serves as a screen. The necessary accessories are included for installation in the terrarium, but the light must be dismantled for this. This special low voltage lamp is waterproof as to the IP68 standard, making it perfect for rainforest vivariums and turtle tanks where the use of normal, not humidity protected porcelain lampholders is risky or even not allowed. The Jungle Lamp is a 12V luminaire which requires a halogen transformer for operation. The installation inside the vivarium can be done with the supplied holding arms allowing to point the lamp in the desired direction. Available is a set which contains one Jungle Lamp and a transformer (20-105W). Additional Jungle Lamps can be purchased separately and attached to the transformer. A mixed operation with Thermo Socket LV lamps is alos possible. With its wattage range of 20W to 105W the transformer can operate a single 20W lamp but also multiple lamps with a maximum of 105W. E.g. you can attach two Jungle Lamps with 50W halogen lamps (2x50W = 100W) or three luminaires with 35W lamps (3x35W = 105W). The theoretical maximum is 5 luminaires with 20W lamps. Exo Terra substrate for rainforest terrariums is the ideal decorative substrate in naturally planted terrariums for moisture-loving reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates from tropical forests. The substrate for rainforest terrariums regulates humidity in the terrarium in a natural way: it absorbs moisture and then slowly releases it again. The hygroscopic properties are maximised by adding natural sphagnum moss to the mixture. Appropriate humidity levels support shedding and help to prevent respiratory infection. The unique size and shape of the bark particles in combination with the natural sphagnum moss allow for frequent watering of the plants and ensure healthy root growth in the substrate with good aeration. Exo Terra Rain Forest is heat-treated to avoid bacterial contamination.
Instructions for use:Spread a 5–10 cm thick layer of the bark on the terrarium floor. Moisten the substrate as needed to achieve the required humidity level and use an Exo Terra hygrometer to monitor. To increase humidity in well-ventilated terrariums or in terrariums where very high humidity is required, a substrate heater should be placed under the terrarium. Remove heavily soiled substrate spot-wise daily. Replace the substrate completely as needed.
