It is a natural hybrid between Cryptocoryne griffithii and Cryptocoryne cordata. The type described here originates from Borneo with an unusual marbling of the leaf blades. Its growth is significantly slower than that of other known species of water calyx in the aquarium hobby. With a growth height of approx. 10 cm (previous cultivation experience in the aquarium), it remains relatively small in size and can therefore be used well in the foreground, depending on the size of the tank.
