Diese Sorte besitzt grosse, aber schmälere Blätter als die Stammform H. corymbosa. Auch hier werden die Unterwasserblätter hellgrün, aber unter Wasser sind die Abstände der Blattpaare dichter. Bei offenen Aquarien können die Triebspitzen herauswachsen und zeigen auch schnell wieder die kräftige dunkelgrüne Blattfarbe. Gute Beleuchtung und CO2-Gaben fördern das Wachstum erheblich. Großblättrige Hygrophila kommen am besten in Aquarien ab 100 cm zur Geltung. Um eine schöne Wirkung zu erzielen, sollte eine Pflanzengruppe mit mindestens 10 -15 Stängel gesteckt werden.
