A key advantage is the large floor area: you can create different zones in the same terrarium, for example warmer and cooler areas, drier and more humid areas, as well as several hiding and climbing structures. This supports natural behaviours, encourages activity and reduces stress – especially for species that actively move between microclimates.
A stable terrarium climate is provided by the adjustable front panel ventilation. It supports a constant flow of air and helps you specifically control temperature and humidity. At the same time, the front glass remains free from condensation even at high humidity, which improves visibility and hygiene.
In practice, the Vista 120 impresses with its convenient access: from the front via the lockable double door and from above via the hinged, lockable mesh cover. This allows you to set up the terrarium easily, feed with less stress and carry out maintenance safely. The mesh cover consists of black anodised stainless steel mesh and is designed so that UVB and infrared radiation pass well into the terrarium.
The terrarium is also set up for technology: Lockable openings for cables and hoses make it easier to integrate lighting, probes or misting. In addition, the Vista 120 is suitable for the Exo Terra Monsoon misting system. The waterproof base also gives you the option of setups with moist substrate, bioactive concepts or small water areas.
Suitable for which animal species?
The Vista 120 (120 × 60 × 45 cm) is especially suitable for small to medium-sized terrarium animals, depending on species, final size, activity level and the Swiss minimum requirements.
The minimum size is calculated based on the animal's body length.
Ground-dwelling snakes (up to 90 cm in length) (e.g. sand boas, garter snakes)
Smaller ground-dwelling lizards with a body length of max. 15 cm
Geckos (e.g. smaller species, depending on how they are kept, more highly structured interiors)
Small amphibian species (depending on moisture requirements, also bioactive possible thanks to waterproof base)
Invertebrates (e.g. larger insect species or arachnids, provided the climatic requirements are right)
Juveniles or temporary rearing or quarantine housing for larger species (check for the species in question)
Note for Switzerland: Please select the terrarium size and setup according to the species-specific requirements and the provisions of the Animal Welfare Act (TSchV). If in doubt, we will be happy to advise you on the suitable size.
Zoo Roco Tip
Plan the technology in from the start: route cables/hoses through the designated, lockable openings before you finish setting up the terrarium. This keeps everything clean, safe and tidy. Use the adjustable front ventilation to actively reduce condensation and fine-tune temperature and humidity.
