Ihre rundlichen Blättchen werden ca. ½ Zentimeter groß und sind von leuchtend hellgrüner Farbe. Als typisch lichthungrige Pflanze mag sie keine zu hohen Temperaturen. Wie die Hemianthus micranthemoides kann man auch sie mit einer scharfen Schere gut in Form schneiden. Das Perlenkraut ist für Nano Cubes gut geeignet, besonders wenn das Miniaturaquarium ohne Heizer betrieben wird. Temperatur 18-26°C
